October is here- how did that happen? But, you know what that means... it's time for a new cause of the month release. I'm sure you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so this month I'll be highlighting different topics to do with breast cancer, starting with this post on the inspiration behind my newest release to support research for a cure.
Keep reading for a sneak peek of the new design & to learn more about the inspiration behind it.
October Charity Partner
Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) is a nonprofit, committed to finding the best ways to prevent and cure breast cancer. Not only do they provide funding for cancer research worldwide, but they also fund survivorship programs designed for people with an increased risk for developing breast cancer.
Even though there's about 3.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S., we still lose 40,000 lives to the disease each year. That’s why BCRF is relentless in their efforts to continue their life-saving projects. Over the last 25 years, deaths from breast cancer have declined by nearly 40%! That being said, there’s still so much more that we can discover through research that will help patients, survivors and those at risk.
It's stats like these that show how much amazing progress we've made, but also illustrate how much more we still have left to do. That's why it's so important for us to keep spreading awareness and raising funds for research however we can.

Design Inspiration
It's this dire need to keep the research going that inspires me to create all of my designs, especially this new bracelet. I wanted to play with the idea of an identity bracelet; you know what those are- the type you used to wear as a little kid. It had all your details on it- name, address, phone number- so if you were lost, they'd know how to find your parents.
So I wanted to take this ID bracelet concept and turn it around. The large oval shaped pendant filled with a cell image of Breast Cancer under resin, represents the "identity" of the wearer. But, when we think of identity representing who we are, I think we sometimes forget that these details- address, phone number, allergies, diagnoses- they are just part of who we are, not all we are.
The Identity Bracelet for Breast Cancer Awareness is a reminder to keep your identity in tact when you're going through a diagnosis, caring for someone, or grieving your loved one. It can be easy to get lost in the battle, but let this bracelet be your reminder that you're strong & beautiful inside and out.
Introducing the Identity Bracelet for Breast Cancer Awareness
The best part about this bracelet is that it's sizable, so it fits any wrist up to 8 inches! The chain will dangle depending on how short you wear it, and I love this added movement. It's finished off with a faceted pink opal for a little extra sparkle.
