I was inspired by my friend Jill to create the Support Pancreatic Cancer Research Collection. When I first started Revive, I was on a shoestring budget so I decided to pull out my contacts list and start a grassroots effort. As a graphic designer, Jill was at the top of my list. I reached out to her for help with my logo and being the amazing friend she is, she said yes.
At our first meeting I asked her what charities I should get involved with. She didn’t hesitate at all when she said, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN). Her mom was taken by Pancreatic Cancer only 4 months after being diagnosed. PanCAN was the foundation that helped them not only decide what to do for treatment, but also helped Jill after she passed. Hearing her story made me realize this was a cause I needed to represent.

Pancreatic cancer has a 5 year survival rate of only 7%, one of the lowest among all types of cancer. About 56,770 people will be diagnosed this year, according to the American Cancer Society.
Let’s do something about this. I don’t like those numbers, PanCAN doesn’t and you shouldn’t either. It’s people like you and I that support them in their mission to find a cure, promote awareness, early detection, education and patient support.
I’m honored to partner with Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) for the Pancreatic Cancer Research collection, who recently celebrated their 20 year anniversary.
I was thrilled to attend the anniversary celebration. The event was filled with survivors and their families, staff, supporters and doctors working together to find a cure. It was an inspiring program filled with speeches about new research, survivor stories and the past, present and future of PanCAN. Followed by a tour of their facility and short staff presentations about their services.
At the event I learned about their “Know Your Tumor” technology. When someone is diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, the best first step is to get in touch with PanCAN. They can use this technology to help you identify the type of tumor you have and the best way to treat it. Not all tumors respond similarly to the same treatment. We heard from an 8 year survivor who’s convinced this technology is the reason he was able to fight it and win.
I was thoroughly inspired by the stories I heard and people I met. PanCAN is so dedicated to finding a cure and supporting patients- it makes me proud to be their partner.
When I design the pancreatic cancer pieces in my line, I think of all the people I know affected by this disease- my friend Jill, my grandmother’s best friend, the survivors I met at the PanCAN event, and all the people out there I haven’t met, but that need help fighting this disease too.
We have the power to change the future. Together we can make a difference for the people living with and dying from Pancreatic Cancer. I’d be honored to have your help supporting them by purchasing one of my pieces from the Pancreatic Cancer Research collection. Click here to shop now.
